After lecture, I received an sms from my dad...I cried after reading it.Papa, mama, keat yee and ah khan, I love you all = ).It is really touching..Suddenly, I feel that I;m the most 幸福 person in the world with all the blessings and greetings from family and friends. Although we are far apart, but i can feel the warmth of them = P

Actually, I didnt expect to receive gift form my friend during SEP.Surprise! I get present and cards from Ling Ling, Sky and Yoo Jung. It is really sweet..

真是一个难忘的生日呀！

Last 3 weeks in SFU

Time flies....I met with a Kyra, a korean friend on my way back to hostel. She asked me to have dinner together for the last time before we leave...Oh yea!! It is my last three weeks in SFU.....Omg.I didnt realised it until she mentioned. That's really fast =.= Suddenly i felt that i must appreciate my time here and enjoy every moment that i spend before going back to reality..Ha!

Guess wat happen to me today? I try to open my room door for 3 minutes and wondering what happen to the door lock. How come my key can't open the door?? and started to panic....After several minutes, I suddenly realised that I went to the room on a level below me =.=

SFU == Fogging School

It is fogging terribly early in the morning when i woke up...Gosh....How much I wish the day is sunny and bright = )

Finally, I'm back to my normal pace after rushing crazily for assignment and midterm for 3 days consecutively.Unfortunately, I did badly for my Geog midterm. My brain was blank when I received the paper, probably due to lack of sleep. = ( I was awaked after I passed up my paper. Well, it is the time to study hard for my next paper.= ) Jia you! jia you! gambatte!

While I am blogging, 988 DJ said a very meaningful sentence : " 应该放下的时候，就要放下。。 " 一句很简单但却很难实行的一句话。试问世上有几个人能做到那么洒脱呢？能够拿得起，放得下 。。

First Hockey Game = ) ( Week 7)

I watched Ice hockey Game with friends this evening(16 Oct) in Pacific Coliseum .It is Giant(Vancouver) against Caugars and Giant won 8-0 to Caugars.Hurray! There are plenty of kids watching and shouting to support Giant. However, i felt wierd because the players always fought with each other during the game. Fighting during the game seems very normal to the spectators and players. There are even kids shouting "Fighting!Fighting! " to encourage them to fight...Just like watching boxing game.

Though it is fun watching, it should be my first and last time watching because the ticket is quite expensive, 13.50 after discount = (. While watching them skating so easily, i suddenly have a strong thought to learn ice skating...It should be wonderful! Haha! I should try once in Vancouver if have time = )

活在当下！

终于赶完assignment 了，超轻松的。所以，给了自己十五分钟休息。。

刚才看了朋友的blog, 让我想了好多事情。。人生真的好短暂，怎样才算是有意义的人生呢？怎样才算过得充实呢？怎样才算不浪费呢？我相信每个人的答案会不一样吧。。。

回想起来，我觉得自己超幸运的。。拥有很支持我的家人与朋友，重来不为吃喝烦恼。。。 糊里糊涂进了NUS, 糊里糊涂选了EE, 就这样两年过去了。看回两年前的自己，不断的奋斗，拼成绩，拼宿舍的活动，只希望能够在大学的这段时间内，充分利用所得到的时间与机会，努力不断的学习.有时候会想，若再给我选择，我会来新加坡吗？我不知道。。。不过肯定的是，若我没来，就不会有现在的自己。。。

更没想到的是我竟然能转学到加拿大大学，并在这儿呆了一个月了。。我十几年来的梦想--出国读书终于完成了。。 梦想起飞 =）实现梦想的那一刹那，脑海中浮现了一个问题：我以后要做什么呢？是时候寻找一个全新的梦想了吧。。。

上个星期日，有个室友问我：感情和理想你会选什么？我毫不犹豫地回答：以前的我会选理想，现在的我会选感情。其实，我被自己的答案吓倒了。。或许随着年龄的增长，经历的事情多了，所追求的东西也会改变吧。。。挺喜欢这样的自己　＝）

You can't imagine how strong the wind and how cold the weather is... = )

　　上个礼拜（9/Oct) ，跟朋友去了whale watching...竟然可亲眼目睹鲸鱼在眼前跳跃。。超棒的. 是值100cad dollar 了。。But, it is just once in a life time. I wont go twice 哈!

Vancouver Island -- Victoria

2 weeks ago(18-19/09/2009), my friends and I travelled to Vancouver Island. Guess how long we spent on travelling time? After sitting sky train for 1 1/2 hour and bus for 1 hour, we finally reached Tsawwassen Bay = ) Gosh! It is really far away from SFU = (. Guess what, we still need to take 1 hour cruise to reach Vancouver Island. And, from Swatz Bay , it took us 1 hour to reach Victoria!! In total, we spent 4 1/2 hour to reach our destination! It is just like a trip from Penang to KL....

Luckily the cruise is fun and big! This is the first time I sit such a big cruise. There is arcade rooms, restaurants and souvenir shops! Wow! And, we can even watch channel TV in the cruise = )Ha ha! Besides, the transit system in Vancouver is really different from Singapore. It is more flexible and friendly.Here, the bus driver can change the bus route when it is needed. On Friday, on our trip to Tsawwassen Bay, because of too many passengers, the bus driver decide to split into two buses , so that all of us can fit in the bus. It is so considerate = ) Then, the bus driver has a mic which he can announce the places when we reach and can talk to the passenger, just like a traveller bus and the driver is the guide = ) So fun!

We slept in International Hostel on Friday night and it is the first time to overnight in hostel during vacation. I don't like hostel because certainly, it is unsafe to leave your luggage in the cupboard and sleep.

We woke up at 7.30am on the next day and start travelling around. No doubt, Vancouver is a beautiful island with breathtaking scenery. We went to the expensive Emperor Hotel, the beautiful Legislative Building , Royal London Wax Museum and had our lunch at Fisherman Whaft's.We share a Fisherman's Sampler which include half of steamed crab, mussels and 'ham' and fish n chips among 3 friends. It is worth buying and the food is delicious = ) Yummy!! The mussel is big and fresh!

After a yummy lunch, we went to Butchard Garden, 1 national historic site of Canada, which has been built over 100 years. The Garden started in Waterwheel Square and then the Sunken Garden, which link to the Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden. Later on, we walked to the Italian Garden and reached Star Pond.There is plenty of beautiful flowers in the Garden. There are different colours of roses : red, yellow, white, pink, orange.... When we walked into the Japanese Garden, the feeling changed. The atmosphere turns green with lots of bonsai, small hut and stoned pathway.


Undoubtedly, Victoria is a prefect place for relaxing and honeymoon. The lifestyle pace is slow and thus we can enjoy every moment of our life sitting or lying on the grass enjoying the beautiful view of the island.

简单也是一种幸福………

今天超冷的，摄氏11度. 真不晓得怎么挨过冬天。下午上完课后，天气又冷，肚子又饿，让我想起买火柴的小女孩。哈哈！天气渐渐转凉了，应该是慢慢步入秋天了吧！秋天的童话... 哈哈！今天来点思情画意，用中文来写吧！

上个星期五，我终于吃到韩国拌饭了！！好好吃而且又不贵，大约9 元。最重要的是，我参加了旅行团，将在10 月10日去rocky mountain 旅行.....好期待哟！

上个星期六我们一般人到north vancouver 去走 capilano suspension bridge and climb Grouse Grind.Capilano Bridge 好贵哟！20 dollars per person....更气的是，它的吊桥好普通，没什么特色，也不是很高，钱花得好不值得...= ( 过后我们去Grouse Grind 爬山...Grouse Grind 在海拔4100 米...夏天适合爬山，冬天适合滑雪。好棒哟！我很喜欢爬山，爱接近大自然。站在山上，vancouver 的景色尽收眼底，就发现一切的汗水都是值得的. 爬山让我好想家....

星期日很平淡...早上跟爸妈聊天，然后就敢功课了。不过，下午还不错...去 Metrotown 买了冬衣. 大约花了80dollars. 算是便宜的了，好开心哟！

简单也是一种幸福....好好享受这种简单的生活...= )

Finally it is Saturday -- Travelling day!

Last Saturday, we went to Richmond which is around 2 hours bus ride from SFU. Wow!! That's really far.......

Richmond is a town which is famous of delicious Chinese food, shopping and dining. So, we sure grab the chance to enjoy Chinese Cruisine. After a long discussion, we finally settle down on hot pot!! hurray!!

We spend our evening in Stevenson Village -- a village which sells fresh fish expecially tuna and salmon. It is like a port or boat house which is surrounded boat cruise. We just walk around, and enjoy sea breeze and sunset. To our surprise, I saw a snowy mountain far away from the port. And , the view is spetacular. The lifestyle here is so carefree and relax.

After that, we heed to the summer night market which held until 4thOctober. Actually , the night market is just like a street in Hong Kong with lots of foods and cheap goods

Weekend is always a perfect day for travelling.

Hurray!! No Lecture tomorrow!

Finally I have time for blogging. Just wondering, I am taking 4 modules this semester, but I am even busier than I was in NUS. No time for TV, no time for slacking....where has my time gone?ha ha!! No idea... Today is a great day= ) Because i have no lesson tomorrow!! Hurray!! Ha ha!! And, most importantly, I'm going to Vancouver Island tomorrow!!

I have a good lecture and lab this late afternoon. Finally I understand all the concepts that have been taught after consulting my lecturer and TA. There is a big difference of atmosphere in SFU compare to NUS. No matter either in lecture or lab , students like to ask and answer questions. Thus, you won't feel weird or shy to ask any question. Besides, yesterday, I went to High Frequency lecture whereby the lecturer taught us transmission lines. I believe that all of us have no idea how to apply transmission line in our daily life and have no idea what is it though we studied it in Year 2. What we did last year is note down all formulas in the formula sheet and throw everything in during exam without understanding. However, during the first lecture of the transmission line, the lecturer explained and gave us an example on how important transmission line is in our daily life. Once he mentioned the usage and application of the transmission line in our daily life, I suddenly realised what i have studied and understand all the concept behind which i dun understand last year.

A beautiful mountain scenery from study room = ) Just imagine, you are facing mountains and enjoying the scenery when you are studying...It's wonderful, isn't it? = )

Then, I join a pot luck in my friend's floor for my dinner. I like pot luck. Pot luck is an event which every floor mate will prepare a dish and share with everyone. It is really fun and the guys cook very well. It is really amazing! Besides learning from floor mates how to cook delicious dishes, we can eat different type of food from different country and chat together.

I like SFU. People is friendly and we greet each other when we meet. The weather is just nice and the scenery is really breathtaking.....Yeap, enjoy every minute of my life = ) Looking ahead to Vancouver Island ^^

International Student Boat Cruise = )

Let's flashback to last Friday........

I went for boat cruising in Vancouver!! = ) It was specially organized by SFU International Department for all the International students. It is really a great place to meet friends and socialize with them. Friends from France, Sri Lanka, Philipines, Bei Jing, Iran, Iraq, Norway, India,Burma , Africa, Turkish, Korea.... Undoubtedly, I really enjoyed watching sunset and night view of Vancouver. Standing on the boat, listening to the blowing wind with a free pizza on hand, everything is just so prefect = ) I wish that I have a boat cruise too!!! Life is wonderful! Then, some students started to dance in the middle of the boat. And , guess what! I join the group!!! Ha ha!!! 我豁出去了=.= It is fun! Ha ha!

Live to the fullest

Finally I have the time to write my blog = ) Haha!!

It is raining these two days and thus, the weather is so cold. It is even fogging in the morning and at night. I miss sunlight a lot...Now i can understand why Western people like to sun bathing = ) haha!!

Lectures are starting at a fast pace here. Everyone seems to have background in their area. Undoubtedly, level 4 module is really hard to understand. It is quite scary to be in a class of 18 students with 15 of them are 4th year students.=..=.I dunno how can I survive = (
During every lecture, I am trying my best to meet and talk to a student in each lesson, hope that I can know more about my course so that I can catch up the pace faster = ) Jia you!!

In SFU, from 3rd year onwards, their lab time is free, which means that students can go to the lab anytime they prefer. In addition, the lab opens 24 hours..Omg!!! I dun want to sleep in lab...no...

Time flies....Thursday is a good day for me cos i just have 1 lecture in the morning and 1 lab in the late afternoon. Hurray!! More time to relax and have fun! Right now, my walking pace has slower down. I enjoy watching autumn leaves, enjoy sun shinning on my face while i'm walking... enjoy sitting on the grass while studying. = ) It's just fun!! Everyday is very simple. Wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, go to lecture then come back for dinner and finish tutorial or study...It is simple, but it is fulfilling = ) Study hard and play hard!

Oh yea...and i jog today! Finally I sweat...Feel healthy now, though i caught a flu while i was jogging. = )

Finally School Starts

第一天的早晨 = ）

Today is the first day of the school. Waking up around 7+am, after grabbing a piece of bread and milo, i quickly rush to my first lecture in SFU!!! Haha! What a good day without rainning!

While I was wondering how the lecturer started his lesson, he distributed papers to all of us and ask us to draw a map of Downtown, Vancouver! Omg!!! I just been there for twice and the only thing i remembered is tourist location..Haha!!!After scribble some tourist attraction on the paper, we started our lesson.As usual, with some introduction and course introduction.(Just like I'm back in Year 1 Semester 1 with a lot of unfamiliar people around me....) The only difference is the class is very interactive, not like the lecture that i sat normally whereby students are the one listening and lecturer is the only one speaking. I quite enjoy this lecture because it ended 1 hour earlier than expected..Haha!!

Honestly, I;m quite glad that I just take 4 this semester after lecture. The workload is very heavy. I almost has 2 assignments to pass up each week!! And, there is a lot of minor things in life to take care off. Gambatte!!! Live my life to the fullest! Study hard in weekdays and play in weekends!!!

Happily grab 3 books in library, I feel that I'm so lucky today.(Thanks for my kiasu attitude...haha!!!!)No choice lah, because the books that sold here are sooooo much expensive. Each book is more than 100bucks. Omg!!! I nearly fainted when i visited the book store. Oh, and I even queue for free pancake for my lunch and get some free snacks from the booth....Hurray!!! A lot of free stuff today! = )

Week of Welcome(WOW) : Convocation Mall is crowded with students

The first day is a great day to me with a lot of free snacks and most importantly, I am able to borrow 3 books out of 4 from the library, which definitely save me a lot of $.I'm more and more aunty right now.Wherever there is free food, i'll definitely there! Haha!!

Farewell Party

It is really touching when i received sms from Zhi Jun saying that we will be having a dinner with me on 30 August(sunday) night. I'm wondering whether anyone of you notice any change in our spiderwoman-- Zhi Jun? She becomes very talkative and starts to know how to 'shoot' people..Haha...Keep on!! And Shu Lin, I like your shirt!! It is nice. You should wear more often = )

However, it is quite sad that 'papa Phea' can't attend in the end. Happy Birthday, Phea!! Hope that it is not too late = )

And, Alex, thanks for your cream puff. My mum likes the rose one and my dad likes the blueberry one. Haha...
